I've just learnt from the website that the usual organisers are taking a rest this year so the programme will be more limited. There is mention of music in the pubs so hopefully the usual sessions will continue.

Tam - we always go to Cottington Lakes - £12 per night with electric hook-up. http://www.cottingtonfisheries.com/page5.htm.
We'll be there, and probably in The Bohemian back garden, but I have no confirmation so far.

Refresh. Out of wevva range so far, but the Bohemian was great last year - who's running it this year?

And the Ship was great last year. Again, who's running it this year?

Is anything on on the Friday night? I think BG might be singing in the camp site bar but a real session in town might be even more fun.

Barry Waterfront Festival is on this weekend Sept 4th & 5th. The event is graced by the presence of the tall ship, "Stavros Niarchos".
Baggyrinkle are there providing their maritime repertoire on the festival site and hopefully, on board The "Stavros"?

Fear not! The met office can't even forecast 2 days ahead with any degree of accuracy. It's always sunny for the DMFF and I'm sure this year will be no exception. Anyway, there's plenty of decent pubs to dive into should the odd dark cloud appear on the horizon.

Met-check is now saying wet-ish over Fri night and Sat night. Met office so far saying dry Fri - no news on Sat.

Plan: Most likely sing at Cottington Lakes Fri night, unless JB has a better plan; Bohemian garden with large umbrella in case of need Sat Day; fish & chips, probably shanty session or similar in Ship Sat night.

Both Met-check and met office still saying no rain and quite a lot of sun, although temperatures not high. Nonetheless I think the sun-trap in the Bohemian's back yard should be very nice! Gagging for it!

Deal was very nice. Arrived too late to go into town on Friday night thanks to a short cut that went wrong. Bohemian was magic all day Sat. Great fish and chips in Middle Street. Hard to find a sing in the evening so had to drink lots in stead. Got a short sing in the Ship from about 10.15 to 11pm. The tow down and back was a relative delight since Capt. Pikey's cruise control is now working.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who helped to rescue the festival and provide a very enjoyable weekend. There were excellent singarounds in both the Bohemian and the Ship. At the Sunday lunchtime session in the Ship, hosted by Loose Change, I got rather more opportunity to sing and play than I was expecting owing to an initial lack of other participants. As the audience seemed to be mostly pub regulars rather than folkies, this was a good experience.

We4ll done to everyone -organisers, and singers alike. Though we arrived late at the Bohemian, we got to sing a few songs in very pleasant sunshine - and yes, the Fish and Chips in Middle Street are delicious.
