Folk-Legacy, like Camsco, will honor orders through our 800 number and credit Mudcat with the sale, if you tell us that's where you found us. 800-836-0901. Other than orders, though, please use 860-364-5661. Call us, and you'll get to talk with Caroline, probably. I don't do phones very cheerfully. I prefer e-mail, 'cause it doesn't talk back!

Grumpy at morn

We are planning to add some international record companies. Dick has mentioned Northern Ireland, Australia, and Britain so far. If mudcatters have connections to record companies of interest, let us or Max know. We would like to make mudcat THE place to come for all your folky needs. Available under the "shop" button and not shouting at you. It will take a little while to get it all in place. Max is doing a great job.

try us or Folk Legacy. what have you got to lose? And the mudcat will get some support from us. I don't think tower records gives a hoot about the mudcat.

Wally Macnow Camsco Music

P.S. If you order via email or out 800 number, let me know that you found us through the Mudcat Cafe. If you order via the Mudcat store, we know about it automatically.

Thanks, guys, but maybe my rambling wasn't very clear, I am aware of the US sources, I have used them for US material I can't get in UK, I was really hoping for a UK site. The best online one for items listed is Tower Records but so far a sample order for something available "in 3-4 days" is still "in progress" after 5 months, so I'm looking for one that can actually deliver what it lists!

Hey, I was going to ask the same thing: do you mean a lot of the really old Irish, Scottish, etc., folksongs we talk about are available through "Shop?" How about Stan Rogers, etc.? (dumb question, but I don't have time to click on right now)

Just so you know, Max, Brian and the other elves have spent many thousands of dollars worth of man hours to get the improved Mudcat up and running.

If you buy from the shop they might just get a few pennies to keep them going. They will never recoup what they have already lost in unearned wages.

So, Guys and Gals and possums, buy from the shop.
And if you have anything to sell, sell it through the auction (which is also under the Shop button) and give Mudcat a small cut.

Bert.

Just so you know, Max plans to add more records and new vendors to the Mudcat Shop in the near future. When and if this happens will depend a lot on how many sales we get for Camsco & Folk Legacy.

Max has listed both Camsco and Folk-Legacy, and we each offer a percentage to Mudcat on every sale. Check out "shop" above.

Rog the ZIM, your first place to go is to hit the 'Shop' link above. I think Max has all the Camsco inventory listed, along with a couple of other suppliers.

Bert.

I get my jazz & blues records usually from Ray's record shop in London. Otherwise I buy from the London Tower Records or Virgin Megastore but the last two don't have many of the artists you all mention. Often people mention records in threads that aren't even on CD-Now (and where did the Camsco link go?) and don't apear in the UK onlne stores I've bookmarked. Do UK ' catters have a good online or mailorder folk store (general not specific, I know I can get Corries stuff from Gavin Browne & Folk Legacy from Sandy etc) that has a good range of US & UK folk stuff including the small labels that would be the folk equivalent of Ray's?
Now that the 'cat has reawakened my interest in folk music, I'm trying to widen my knowlege.
