Greetings Folks,

Yesterday, I booked for Pete's Sunday, August 8th book signing and concert in Bearsville (near Woodstock, New York). However, since I am on vacation in New York City, I have no independent way of getting there (although I am currently researching my travel options).

It may be a long shot, but I am writing in case someone on this list is also attending the book signing and is travelling up to Bearsville from NYC (or New Jersey or thereabouts), and has room in their car for an extra passenger.

I am more than happy to share fuel costs, and other travel expenses, and I could even share driving duties (although I've never driven in America!) I do of course, have an international driving permit with me.

I'm staying at the top end of Manhattan in Washington Heights, just up a couple of blocks from the George Washington Bridge. According to Google Maps the shortest route (2 hours) indicates the George Washington is the logical place to cross the Hudson River for the drive up the Palisades Interstate Parkway to the New York State Thruway, and then up to Woodstock.

Oops. Of course the two hour travel time quoted in my post is only from Washington Heights to Woodstock, and doesn't include any extra travel a person may have to do between their place of residence and Washington Heights.

Anyway, if you'd like to take me driving in your car, car, I'd be grateful for the lift.
