LOL, it sure did, I don't know what I hit but rusty wasn't the word .. this version needs work .. gotta smooth it more and better bass .. then I will have something for the baby to go to sleep with .. ya can tell I am not classical guitarist ... but when ya have fun nothing else matters. Thank you friend for the listen. You always make any song I write or play better by letting me know what parts are strong and what parts suck and I appreciate that ... when a person plays they usually have something in their head but sometimes the head and the hands don't connect and others have to point stuff out or they cannot ever improve ... Like Jeff's bass comment. Much appreciated

And if anyone wants to join Will and I and the gang please share your version. This started out because my grandson gets a little fussy at night and my daughter said can you do a guitar piece. He loves listening to music .. so I thought why not greensleeves .. then I thought it maybe fun to get everyone to do a version for practice and just to see what we could come up with ... so if anyone has a version of their own, please do share .. I know there are millions of professional versions but none of us are pro's .. we are just folks who love to play for fun .. please do join us

Once again proving that if you start with a melody that is really "right", you can do almost anything with it without hurting it, so long as you treat it with respect.
Glad you posted the new "cut", Dan; didn't want to knock the original, but the pickup of the guitar sound came off sort of as if I had a cracked or loose cone in a 'puter speaker.

Thanks, Dan. There's very little live music or songwriting here these days.

It's fun to imagine you all working out your arrangements. It was one of the things I loved to do, especially on harp and guitar, even at my fairly basic level.

The back story is that Dan recently set a little test for his friends on our "Will's Porch" Forum by asking each of us to do our version of "Greensleeves". Now, when the pupils have done their homework, up pops the headmaster with his own fine version and puts us all to shame!

Fine picking. Very clean. Would've liked to have heard a steady 1-2-3/1-2-3 bass line and the B part go to the relative major(C in the case of Am part A), but I'm just being an overly officious nitpicker. Doing even a simple walking bassline underneath the melody would be very impressive. Well within your technique, too.

I've done a walking baseline on 'Glory Of Love' and know it's not easy, but VERY satisfying when it comes together. Get the bassline together first then the melody will fall right into place. All your chordforms will change to accomodate the changes, but I'll guarantee humble satisfaction when you get it right. Have fun with the challange should you decide to give it a go.
