Subject: Lyr Req: In The Heart Of The Lehigh Valley From: GUEST,Greg In Baltimore Date: 17 Jul 10 - 08:53 PM Greetings all!! I've found some sheet music from 1921 titled "In The Heart Of The Lehigh Valley." I found the partical on an on-line sheet music archive, but some pages are missing. Is there a kind soul out there that could photostat (or Adobe) the WHOLE thing for me? I hope so. Greg |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: In the Heart of the Lehigh Valley From: Jim Dixon Date: 25 Jul 10 - 08:37 PM I found the web site you were probably referring to: The Maine Music Box. Indeed, they have images of the cover and the first 2 pages of the music, then it breaks off in mid-phrase. There must be at least 1 (probably only 1) page missing. I'm guessing that they HAVE the missing page in their library, but due to some mistake, they failed to scan it and/or upload it to their web site. Accordingly, I have emailed them. Hopefully they can correct this error. I will let you know if I get a meaningful reply. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: In the Heart of the Lehigh Valley From: Jim Dixon Date: 14 Aug 10 - 03:57 PM Greg: If you get the complete lyrics, please post them here. Here's a start. We might be missing only part of the chorus: IN THE HEART OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY Words by Phil. Ponce; music by William Polla. Hartford, Conn.: C. C. Church and Company, 1921. 1. There's a light shining bright in a window tonight Of a cottage far away. There's a girl sitting there in an old rocking chair Where she waits for me each day. CHORUS: In the heart of the Lehigh Valley, Mid the Pennsylvania hills, Though far away, Each.... 2. Where the birds in the trees sing their sweet melodies In the orchard down the lane, I will never forget it was there that we met, And I must return again. |
