There is a folk group from Rajasthan doing a show in Edinburgh tonight.

I can find nothing at all about them on the web, beyond the uninformative blurb provided by the venue. I presume they're doing a tour of the UK.

Anybody know anything about them?

The venue is the Roxy Art house. The group doesn't seem to have a proper name. I'm guessing they are a tour party put together as a one-off.

DESERT ROMANCE: RAJASTHANI FOLK MASTERS seems to be the name of the group. I doubt they'll be a one off touring party. More likely a group of musicians from a particular locale, who play together regularly. They could even be the group who made a CD for Sense Records a few years ago; Gypsies of Rajasthan; Desert Charm.

I'd advise anyone who can to get along and see them. You'll be bopping around for weeks.

My name's Robin - I do the press at the Roxy.

The group was spotted by Viram Jasani, CEO of the Asian Music Cicuit, on a recent trip to Rajasthan. Having seen them play he invited them over for a short tour of the UK. Rajasthani Folk Masters is the name they are using for this tour.

The performance will be on the 27th of July in the main hall of the Roxy. Tickets are available from our website - www.roxyarthouse.org.

The Roxy is their only Scottish date.

11th July 2010 Newcastle
17th July Southampton
18th July Nottingham
25th July Ingolstadt - Germany
27th July Edinburgh
29th July London - Purcell Room
