Unfortunately Crow my dad is 86 and wont use sticks? Dogged determination.
4 months ago he went arse over head and fractured his cheek bone.

He also suffers from Dementia after the first fall we decided to put him into residential care which costs £800 a week which he pays for. (Above all he likes the home because he has company which is a tremendous reassurance for me and my sister) but it does not stop him falling over.

During the day the staff make him use sticks or a frame but this incident happened while he was in his apartment.
Regards Pierre.

Pete, I have personal experience of people's differing attitudes to ageing parents some of which are downright callous. It's warming to see that you are not only a fun person but a responsible and caring one

I have spoken today too Elizabeth the Team Leader for the Ham Car Park who I was assigned to work with and she was very understanding and simply said that next year I would be more then welcome.
I just cant believe this has happened I have me pass to the camp site and me assigned work and me bags been packed since last week.
Under the circumstances I can only be tolerant because at the end of the day my father in the past has been more then tolerant to me and has bailed me out of god knows what in the past?
Perhaps this is payback time.
Thank you all for your concern
Regards Pierre.

PLC - very sorry to read your post, both because of the reason why you've had to cancel, and because I won't get to meet you at Sidmouth.

There were a few years when I nearly didn't get to Sidmouth because of my mother's state of health, and I just hope you'll be able to make next year's festival!

All best wishes

Kitty

From: Pierre Le Chapeau

I was both saddened and disapointed today to have had to contact
Anne Taylor by email and cancell my application for Stewarding at this years Sidmouth folk Festival.

This is due to my 86 year old father being taken into hospital this Friday Morning after a fall at his nursing home.

He Having suffered facial injuries and a fractured collar bone He will be in hospital for quite some time and I am his only closest relative in regards to my brother lives in Cumbria and my sister is on holiday and out the country.
Kind regards
Peter Howcroft
