That decision of no guests in that thread was made a couple of days after the thread was initiated ... all my posts previous to that decision were deleted as I was "guest, number 6". Nothing at all offensive were in them. It didn't really matter what I said anyway.

I know a great chill bar in The Algarve ... a couple of my friends own it. There's a band that plays there every Thursday nite. The do cover songs of the Doors ... ever hear the Doors songs sung in Portuguese?

Bruce always was a rebel. It's in his heart and soul. Not running from any fight has maybe taken it's toll. I'm sure, maeve, that when heads chill, as you and I know they will, Bruce, Peace, 9 9 9 or whatever he chooses next, will post again, but only in context.

The powers that be define the fee, of posting at this Café. So anyone who, will not do, exactly what they say, must leave and hope to return someday, to the bloody fray.

Well, like gnu, I haven't read the thread, but Bruce has always worn his heart on his sleeve....and watever he said I'm sure he sincerely believed it....I never ask for more from anyone.

Bruce dosen't agree with many of my views, but over the years we have remained firm friends.....I respect and admire him, and hope the "barring" is only temporary. The place wouldn't be the same without him.....Ake.

I mean, WHY are they so scared to allow any discussion of the way the site works, or is run?
That's paranoia pure and simple.
I was told off for deleting things which I thought would cause trouble, when I was briefly a clone. I was told that "we don't delete things on Mudcat unless they are a personal attack"
Well that's crap, I see lots of editing, and deletion, of posts going on.
Joe Offer will now launch a personal attack on me, as he has done before, and guess what? It won't be deleted!
I should worry.

Leaving aside the situation where someone might want to post about something very personal, why post under an alias anyway?

In a thread about stuff like Gaza having a "no GUEST" rule makes sense to me.

Mudcat is less of a place without my brother Bruce. Yes he like I and everyone one here has a temper ... sometime our temper comes out and a day or so later we regret it .. but we are all what we are. One thing, you will not find a more caring, kind or generous soul .. Stop the nonsense let him Post ... and lets try to discuss the best we can topics without the nonsense.

Bruce is the first to arrive and the last to leave when someone is in trouble. He also cannot tolerate even a hint that someone else is getting a shaft job so he stands up ... people could call him anything and he shrugs it off but call someone who is defenseless and he will explode .. that is our Bruce ...

Forget this barring stuff .. it is not productive. A person who owns a site can edit if they wish, it is their servers their software .. but without understanding then people stop visiting. One of the great things about this site has been the freedom to discuss serious issues.

1) Bruce is not barred from Mudcat.

2) There are NO guest posts allowed in that Gaza thread, not from sickos pretending to be logged out members, not from actual logged out members or permanent guests.

Reading the thread may have shown that, but I admit it's hard to tell if Joe wrote that message in the first post early on (he did--lots of fake logged out members early on) or later, but Bruce knew it when he posted this, and this.

This one's closed. Feel free to PM him or e-mail him, if you have the address. I'm on someone else's computer right now, so I'm going to have to log out and go do something.
