Subject: Banjo cords for Bedlam Boys? From: jacqui.c Date: 25 Jul 10 - 10:08 PM I have been thinking for a while that Bedlam Boys would work really well with a plucked banjo accompaniment. Kendall says he can't work out the cords. Can anyone out there help? |
Subject: RE: Banjo cords for Bedlam Boys? From: Phil Cooper Date: 25 Jul 10 - 10:36 PM Dm and C, or Em and D? I'm assuming the Steeleye Span/Dark Ship in the forest John & Tony version of the tune by Nic Jones and Dave Moran? Those are the one's I use. When in doubt play the minor. |
Subject: RE: Banjo cords for Bedlam Boys? From: CupOfTea Date: 26 Jul 10 - 08:25 AM Jacqui I've a scan of the chords and dots from my homemade fake book. I tried to PM you but "member not found" showed up. What's with that, I wonder? Joanne In Cleveland |

Subject: RE: Banjo cords for Bedlam Boys? From: stevesg Date: 26 Jul 10 - 03:52 PM The Bedlam Boys version with which I am familliar is a modal tune employing the Dorian mode; thus, it has no "chords" per se... it may be accompanied on 5-string banjo with use of the following tuning: gDGCD. An example may be found on an eafrly steeleye span recording. s. |
