re the Acoustic Calendar for Wessex. The August edition has appeared this mornign and it's slightly changed its format. Bristol now appears as a separate section within the month's events.

May I suggest the Nova Scotia Folk Club web site, the links page will give you lots to do every evening in Bristol, they meet on a monday evening there is also a new singers session opened recently on a Thursday evening every other week, try Traditional singers in Bristol on the mudcat search.

Go to the Acoustic Calendar for Wessex at the beginning of August and you'll find plenty going on in Bristol every day of the month.

We're staying in Horton, outside Bristol, from Monday 16th August, and are hoping there will be some sessions or folk clubs happening that week. Would be very grateful for some local knowledge on the folk scene in the area.
