Can anyone tell me if there are any sessions around Whitby during August as I am taking family on holiday there. (I know that I won't be there for Whitby Folk Week unfortunately)

There's a good friendly mixed singers/musicians session every Tuesday night in the First Inn Last Out (and on the first Saturday in the month ) It gets going from 8.30pm(ish)onwards First Inn Last Out and a regular Sunday evening session at The Station Inn (old Tap & Spile ) which I think starts about 8pm though I've not been to that one for a while.      Cheers Ann

Saltburn festival isn't TOO far away. 15th - 18th August with a folk club on the 14th. Check out the site.

Thanks for these posts. I'll aim for the FILO on Tuesday week Ann. Think the Ship is the wrong date for me and Saltburn may be too far.

Sian
there's a session nearly every night in Whitby, there's numerous previous threads if you scan back through the history.

Singaround (sometimes with guest) at White Hart in Mickleby on a Saturday evening. Not far away.

Saltburn is only half an hour's drive from Whitby. The folk festival is well worth going to.
