Things Got Ya Down? Feel not appreciated Well Then, Consider These .

A worker in New York was dead at his desk for 5 days. The bosses now can't understand why it took so long for anyone to notice . .
------------

In a hospital's Intensive Care Unit, patients always died in the same bed, on Sunday morning, at about 11:00 am, regardless of their medical condition. This puzzled the doctors and some even thought it had something to do with the supernatural.
No one could solve the mystery as to why the deaths occurred around 11:00 AM Sunday, so a worldwide team of experts was assembled to investigate the cause of the incidents.
The next Sunday morning, a few minutes before 11:00 AM all of the doctors and nurses nervously waited outside the ward to see for themselves what the terrible phenomenon was all about. Some were holding wooden crosses, prayer books, and other holy objects to ward off the evil spirits.
Just when the clock struck 11:00, Pookie Johnson, the part-time Sunday sweeper, entered the ward and unplugged the life support system so he could use the vacuum cleaner.
----------------------

Still Having a Bad Day?

The average cost of rehabilitating a seal after the Exxon Valdez Oil spill in Alaska was $80,000.00. At a special ceremony, two of the most expensively saved animals were being released back into the wild amid cheers and applause from onlookers.
A minute later, in full view, a killer whale ate them both.
---------------------------

Still think you are having a Bad Day?

A woman came home to find her husband in the kitchen shaking frantically, almost in a dancing frenzy, with some kind of wire running from his waist towards the electric kettle.
Intending to jolt him away from the deadly current, she whacked him with a handy plank of wood, breaking his arm in two places. Up to that moment, he had been happily listening to his Walkman.
--------------------------

Are Ya OK Now? - No?

Two animal rights defenders were protesting the cruelty of sending pigs to a slaughterhouse in Bonn, Germany. Suddenly, all two thousand pigs broke loose and escaped through a broken fence, stampeding madly. The two helpless protesters were trampled to death.

---------------------------

What? STILL having a Bad Day?

Iraqi terrorist Khay Rahnajet didn't pay enough postage on a letter bomb. It came back with 'Return to Sender' stamped on it. Forgetting it was the bomb, he opened it and was blown to bits. God is Good!

There now, Feeling Better?

hmmm... those have the same 'ring' as the story that **Murphy** of 'Murphys' Law' died when he was run over while walking down a road in England, by a Buick driven by an American driving on the wrong side of the road.

I'll bet Snopes knows....

Yeah, they're all in Snopes, and they're all untrue - but hey, they're good stories...

'Oldest man' dead for 3 decades
July 29, 2010

A home visit by Tokyo officials to a local resident to congratulate him on his 111th birthday instead led to a police search that uncovered his three-decade-old skeleton, media reported on Thursday.
The officials in the Japanese capital believed Sogen Kato was the eldest resident of Adachi ward and visited his listed address to honour him on his birthday, public broadcaster NHK and Jiji Press reported.
But they grew suspicious when his 53-year-old granddaughter told them that Kato "doesn't want to see anybody".
They also realised that the pension fund of his deceased wife had long been unable to contact him.
A police search on Wednesday of the family house found his mummified skeletal remains lying in his bed, dressed in long underwear, reports said.
His relatives told police that he had "confined himself in his room more than 30 years ago and became a living Buddha", according to Jiji Press.
The family had received Y9.5 million ($A122,022) in widower's pension payments via Kato's bank account since his wife died six years ago, and some of the money had recently been withdrawn.
Police are investigating the family for possible fraud charges.

romanyman,
You know that Depression is a cunning liar who will tell you that things are bad and can never get better.

If you feel that depression is pushing you to harm yourself, call someone, or go to a hospital and ask for help.

Try this for size:
21 years' worth of pension contributions in the main Greek Pension Fund(IKA), which announced a slashing of its pensions by 48%....
Another 3 years' worth of pension contributions in the BP (yes, BP) Pension fund....
So I guess I'll be flipping burgers in my 70s, but what the hey, I might just avoid it, being overweight and still smoking...

Getting old sucks, but the alternative is worse.

"the alternative is worse"

How do you know, George?

Uncountable billions of people have died since the world began and not ONE has come back to complain. ;-)

(Additionally, there are numerous interesting cases on record of people, usually young children, who appear to accurately recall living previous lives...but that's another matter. Anyway, none of them complained about dying or after-death conditions either. It makes me wonder.)

I think that's probably exactly why people mostly don't remember it, Amos. Protection. ;-) It makes them a lot more willing to be here and put up with the many limitations and rigors of Earthly existence if that existence appears to be "the only game in town".

People are just afraid to stop existing, that's why they are so afraid to die. They can't imagine reality "without me here" (meaning themselves, of course...not me).

It bothers them not having an ongoing role to play.

Except for BillD, of course. ;-) He's far too objective and rational to be bothered by something like that.
