Subject: Tech: Favorite Web Host (U.S) 2010 From: sharyn Date: 04 Aug 10 - 10:21 PM I, Miss Non-Tech but Learning, am working on designing my first website. There are so many choices. I can handle choices about design, color, typefaces, but I would like current recommendations for web hosts that you all like and use. What say you? Thanks, Sharyn |
Subject: RE: Tech: Favorite Web Host (U.S) 2010 From: Joe Offer Date: 04 Aug 10 - 10:31 PM Well, I don't know what they charge, but I've had really good service from Direct Technology in the Sacramento area. They host our Women's Center Website for free and bend over backwards to be helpful. I would imagine they'd be just as good to paying customers. I imagine they ain't cheap. Joey Washburn is the person I deal with. There's another guy in Auburn, California, who's quite good and most probably cheaper. Contact me privately for information about him. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Tech: Favorite Web Host (U.S) 2010 From: sharyn Date: 05 Aug 10 - 10:24 AM Thanks, Joe. Is anyone using GoDaddy, Yahoo, AT&T, other common web hosting sites? Keep it coming? Thanks. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Favorite Web Host (U.S) 2010 From: sharyn Date: 06 Aug 10 - 12:13 AM Does no one else use a host site? I am looking for current information -- I have read some old threads on websites, but I know that tech stuff changes fast. Who do you use to host your music site and why, please? |
Subject: RE: Tech: Favorite Web Host (U.S) 2010 From: sharyn Date: 08 Aug 10 - 01:26 PM Please help. I'm not sure why no one except Joe wants to contribute here. I am looking to hear about good experiences you have had with web hosting sites. Is there something wrong with the question? I am a musician looking to establish a web presence. To do that, I need a web host. What did you all do? How did you find something that worked for you? Are you all do-it-yourselfers? Thanks for your help. Sharyn |
Subject: RE: Tech: Favorite Web Host (U.S) 2010 From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 08 Aug 10 - 07:28 PM You seem to be wanting a 'private company' host for which you pay money. Many musos in my experience, use the free publicly available systems such as Myspace, Facebook, Youtube, and such places like many free hosters that have since ceased etc. As far as the first case, since very few have responded so far, it seems likely that very few people have any useful relevant information about such as GoDaddy, Yahoo, AT&T, etc for you, sorry. |
