Subject: Banjolele officially deemed undesirable! From: GUEST Date: 05 Aug 10 - 03:43 AM ....for busking purposes by London Underground's licencing authorities. It's been blacklisted because 'Transport For London' think it's a banjo! This is not a joke. Reported in the Evening Standard |

Subject: RE: Banjolele officially deemed undesirable! From: GUEST,Ray Date: 05 Aug 10 - 05:54 AM If they've specifically banned the "Banjolele", they'd better be careful. "Banjolele" is a trade name - just like the difference between a Hoover and a vacuum cleaner. Banjoleles were produced by the Alvin D Keech company and all the rest are banjo-ukuleles. There endeth this morning's trivia! Ray |
Subject: RE: Banjolele officially deemed undesirable! From: GUEST,Meggly Date: 05 Aug 10 - 06:38 AM Um, not sure what happened there... So back to the programme. If London Underground can license a saxaphone-playing Henry the Hoover with his human guitar-playing accompaniment then they can allow a Banjolele or banjo-ukulele for that matter. (By the way, I swear that that Hoover isn't playing live...) |
