The idea is for physical meeting groups....

Create an acct at http://www.meetup.com/

You can also join using your Facebook Acct

Once joined, and you have listed what topics, and how far you would travel, you will be sent emails about relevant events.

You can even also start new groups in various locations for various topics - there are currently groups to play folk music, and folk dancing, - type in Folk in the search and see what is there.

One COULD start a Mudcat group... :-) - but it looks like the current max distance to travel is 100 miles....
