Subject: Quiz: Find 40 song titles .

Below is a passage written by me containing 40 song titles sung by John Wright (John Wright Band). See if you can find them.

                         If You Can See.

My name is Lord Franklin otherwise known as the navigator. I sailed my ships in San Carlos water, from Sligo down to Spain, making up the miles before heading home up over the mountain again.
At the end of my pirate days I could not settle down & so standing at the door listening to Dumbarton Drums asked myself "is this a time for leaving Caladonia behind? I don't know."
I realise I'm a dreamer & have so much love to give, so on a starry night I climb Chisel hill & head for the gypsy life.
When I ask the lock keeper to show me the way to Mirabeau bridge he tells me to remember the glory days, the things we've handed down & so I look for a reconcitiaton at the Grande Hotel.                                                          Life is like sand & water, I don't know where to turn, but I see it's a fragile peace & we are past the point of rescue, that I'm not all used up & can hold on to some dreams.
You seem to have the world on your shoulders but after all the lies that you told me I am close to the edge. So I ask the way to Raglan road & walk like a champion into the summer lightening. Maybe one day I will look back & remember my family & see whatever goes around comes around & realise on one has all the answers.

Missed one line out. Anyoe suffer the curser jumpping about when typing please tell me how to cure it. I spend a lot of time going over sentances removing letters & spaces that appear as if by magic in previous words.
The line above should read so I look for reconciliation at the late night Grand Hotel in town. I find life is......

If you're using a laptop or netbook, disable the touchpad while you're typing text. It took me while to notice that the cursor jumped when the ball of my thumb brushed against the touchpad.

Hi, I like this type of quiz. Late night grande hotel by Nancy Griffith. All the lies that you told me by Christie Hennessy & Ragtlan Road by Patrick Kavanagh. Think Ships is one but can not remember who by.

Hi, I am back with what I think is all the answers- sorry that is one of them, written by kieran halpin.
Here are the ones I did not put on my last posting, less the other five I did get but that the other 'catters' posted.
the navigator, making up the miles, over my mountain, end of my pirate days, standing at the door, I'm a dreamer, so much love, starry night, chisel hill, gypsy life, show the way, mirabeau bridge, glory days, the things we've handed down, reconcilitaion, sand & water, fragile peace, past the point of rescue, all used up, hold on, some dreams, world on your shoulders, close to the edge,   walk like a champion, whatever goes around comes around.

Oh! I see I am to late with my list, I had spent sometime reading and rereading the passage to make sure I got the rest of the answers and looked up the original singers names as well but CAP beat me to it. Well done. The artists I found interest me so I will look for more from them. Names like Pierce Pettis, Lorraine Jordan, Mick Hanly & Utah Phillips I had not heard of until now.
