It's a Welsh tune. I think the word means Clover. I cant find it online. Ah yes it is also called Sir Watkins Delight and you can hear it played on a harp here (with variations)

Yes, we were delighted to have Ann at the Stakwsby session and at osme of our parts playing workshops. A lovely lady and a lovely player.

I was at the session not the concertina workshop, I play a descant recorder, but I was sitting between 2 concertina players, husband Jim with an Anglo, daughter Rachel with an English.
We met Spare Parts at Chippenham a few years ago running a 'learn some session tunes' workshop. It was (and still is) run very well, and just what we needed at the time.

'Spotted!' Saw Ann yesterday afternoon as she was going back home to say goodbye to her guests. Passed on your compliments and mine. There was a rather damp SPOT badge on the bag holding the concertina case :)

Found the thread :) Yes that sounds like me :D Thanks for the compliments Les, Raggytash et al and apologies for the poor playing last night. By the end of yesterday the steady flow of strangers greeting me with 'hello Whitby Lady' had made me a tad nervous and at the FILO when Angie said there was a thread here asking about me that doubled the nerves. Will try to play better for the rest of Folk Week.

Les, sorry to hear about your mum. Thanks to the posters above for providing a name, and if I see the no longer anonymous 'Whitby Lady' I'll pass on your compliments.... and mine. Those 10 minutes she kindly spent showing me how to play a simple tune on the concertina really boosted my confidence, I've not gone on to play one but, I have started to learn French, which along with music, was another subject the teachers told me I was hopeless at 50 years ago at school.

Rather than refresh the old 'Best of Uk Concertina Players' thread I've started this new one :)

   My mam's broken a hip and I'm looking after her up in Glasgow so WFF is off my calender this year, but if the 'Whitby Lady' is spotted could someone tell her how much I enjoyed her playing and I'll try to get to listen to her next year.
To summarise the description from the older thread:-

Probably lives in Whitby and has a husband in poor health. Plays an Anglo (Dipper), plump, about 5' tall with greying hair up in a bun, not dressed like a Folkie. Can play styles of music from Playford to Music Hall and Tango. Does a beautiful 'David of the White Rock' and has a Discworld 'Guild of Assassins' badge on the concertina case :)
