Mrs Pavane likes shows, so we recently went to see one of her favourite singers, David Esssex, in his show All the fun of the fair - and noticed a Piano accordion used on stage. Interesting, but not remarkable.

The next show we saw, Chicago, also had one on stage - a coincidence, I thought.

Then on Friday was saw As You Like it (At the Old Vic). I hoped I was safe with Shakespeare - but no - once again, a piano accordion on stage! Makes 3 in a row.

Is there any show without one?

Could be worse. They had a bodhran in Riverdance.

That's where they belong.

They also had a banjo in Chicago, I seem to recall. Luckily I couldn't hear it.

When I was in Chicago I saw loads of banjos.

But then I was at a banjo convention!
