I need a little help jump starting a collection of music regarding my newest interest; who are the best contemporary recording artists who have a focus on, or at least a knack for folk songs about the Civil War ... and/or Irish immigration?

Cathy Barton and Dave Parra have done several recordings of Civil War songs---mostly from the standpoint of the Missour/Kansas border wars---the burning pf Lawrence, Kansas---Quantrell's raiders etc.

That's Dave Para (with one "r"). I'm surprised I dfon't find their Civil War CDs in the Mudcat "Shop." I carry them both (Johnny Whistletrigger and Rebel in the Woods) on Folk-Legacy's web site.
