Ivan helped me out with my musical keyboard, so I have asked Joe to post a MIDI of a tune which I wrote in Ivan's honor.

If you asked people to name a famous Ivan, most would say "Ivan the Terrible." I decided it was time to change that situation, so that's why it's called Ivan the Likeable.

Let's see if Joe's around.

(There was a colossal storm last night. Now I'm no longer leeneia2. Leeneia and Leeneia2 are the same person.)

I should have mentioned that I abjure, renounce and abrogate all claim to copyright for the above tune. If you want to play it, copy it and distribute it to your friends, go ahead.

It just bubbled up out of my subconscious one day, and it took 20 minutes to compose. I am not interested in copyrighting the results of 20 minutes of fun.

What an enjoyable, jolly little tune, Leeneia! Thanks for letting us play with it. I'd enjoy meeting an Ivan who could inspire such an interesting melody.

I'm no good with lyrics, so I have a suggestion.

1. turn the volume of your computer down to nothing

2. play the following YouTube video of beautiful mountains:

3. Play 'Ivan the Likeable' on your favorite instrument while looking at the mountains.

That should give you a sense of the east-european dance spirit I was feeling when it came to me.

Thanks, leeneia, I'm glad I finally got to hear it. As I said in the recorder thread, I'm going to see what I can do with it and perhaps I'll do it on the Sunday Paltalk group after I get back to Michigan.
