1st ~ Eddie Butcher Music & Singing Festival
Magilligan, Co. Derry, next weekend
8th - 11th Sept 2010

Eddie Butcher (1900 ~ 1980)
"Eddie influenced both younger singers like Paul Brady and Andy Irvine, and local tradition bearers like Joe Holmes (1906-1978) and Len Graham (b. 1944), with whom Eddie sang and performed."

N.B. Seamus O'Kane will be giving a talk about the Down Hill Harp, too.

Cheers

P.S. As this new event doesn't have a website yet, I thought I'd give it a plug on facebook!

Indeed L B.

Let's hope this isn't just a one-off event. The man surely deserves an annual festival in his honour!
