Subject: RE: Valmai & Bryan @ the Lewes Sat Folk Club From: Valmai Goodyear Date: 06 Sep 10 - 01:07 PM Will, many thanks for this. It's a good thing we didn't know the camera was on or there would have been even more involuntary variations. The arrangement is by Matt Seattle from one of his fine 'Airs For Pairs' books. Apart from my mistakes, the only conscious change we've made is to take the harmony line down an octave. The muscles are the result of doing twelve lengths a day in the Pells open-air swimming pool in Lewes. It's nearly Olympic size and full of beautiful spring water. It's the oldest public outdoor pool in the country, built in 1860 by public subscription. Valmai |
Subject: RE: Valmai & Bryan @ the Lewes Sat Folk Club From: Alan Day Date: 06 Sep 10 - 01:48 PM Twelve lengths a day. Very impressive. I can still remember a Water Polo match I played down the road from your pool , at Black Rock against the Shiverers Club. The water was so cold we had to wear channel swimmers grease. Our team Avondale Swimming Club of Battersea was well beaten.Coldest I have ever been in my life. Al |

Very tough specimens. They probably use that grease in their sandwiches, unless they actually sustain life on raw fish and blubber. Valmai |
