It still seems amazing but after 20 years of writing songs I have produced my first CD.

It still seems amazing because I'm now drawing my pension and on the downside of 65 (that sounds much better than 66) and would never have believed that growing up could be such fun.

The CD is all me. 20 tracks of original folk songs written and performed by me and only £5.

I hope someone may be tempted to buy one

I'll be buying one - I still remember a song you wrote and sang . Whatever the Title was I'm not sure but I think it was "Over there ".
Best of luck

Betsy

You might look at putting a sample of your voice / songs (which is very pleasant) somewhere so that people who haven't heard you can choose to buy

Good luck

Hi Hazel, Further to our phone conversation, the cheque for number one copy is in the post!
One thing re your original post, the numbers may be getting bigger but it's the worst mistake you can make is "Growing Up" regress mentally to the glorious days of your youth, when the world was your own, everything was easy, and all life was a pleasure.
There! I'll leave you to write the song about it, it's much more for you than me.I'll stick to the mundane!
I wish you every success with the recording,
Your Pal,
Scowie.

Sorry Scowie but the days of my youth were not "glorious"

I've had a deal more fun and laughter in the last the last 20 years than I ever did in the first.

Anyway it was a typing error I really meant to say "growing older"

A little sidebar...

Scowie

The man to blame for me singing.

You probably won't remember but you very kindly sent me a tape (by real post) of When All men Sing after I met you at the Black Bull Bender some years ago (top row of bales almost opposite the bar if I remember) after Dave who sang the song pointed and said 'the writer is up there if you want to talk to him'

Thank you for that :)

Nick

I've got plenty for everyone.

Ali - I would love to send you a copy but I don't seem to have your new address.
Please PM it to me.

All other requests are ready for the postman tomorrow - so you won't have long to wait.

This really is fun.

I listened to it all the way through today, and enjoyed it immensely.
Two songs struck me immediately, Autumn Leaves, and When You and I Meet, the tune for the latter has been running round in my head all day.
Well done Hazel, sterling work.

I really enjoyed listening to Hazel's CD; some lovely and well-crafted songs beautifully sung in a clear and vibrant voice. I liked the vigour of Joshua, which sounds just like a great revivalist hymn, but there are some very thoughtful songs based on real life stories from the North-East of England like Seaman's Wife, and Jacky Allen which I liked too. Some very good songs here which deserve to become better known.

Matthew

I've been gadding a bit so it was lovely to find your cd waiting for me when I got back home.
I'm just like John - I've had the tune to When You and I Meet going round and round in my head too.

Many thanks

Sue
