Subject: Confessional Box handmade guitar From: Alice Date: 09 Sep 10 - 03:38 PM Oh... my... gosh... I just stumbled across this guitar made from recycled wood from a confessional and thought Mudcatters may like to see it. I don't know who the maker is. He is located somewhere in the US. Confessional Box Guitar made by dabeeman on Etsy description: "If you have something giving you the blues, bring it to the box. With its steadfast presence this guitar will reconcile your soul. Made from antique woods you will feel pious owning this saintly piece of art. This guitar is acoustic electric, with a Piezo pickup. Setup to play that old time slide blues." |

Subject: RE: Confessional Box handmade guitar From: Jack Campin Date: 09 Sep 10 - 04:49 PM A few years ago one of our local adverts papers ran two "for sale" ads almost next to each other. One was for a confessional booth. The other was for an ejector seat from a Harrier jumpjet. Ready for heaven after confessing all your sins? We can arrange it... BANG!!! Come to think of it, the perfect singer-songwriter's guitar should not just be made from a confessional booth. It needs a mirror on the back for gazing at your navel with. |
Subject: RE: Confessional Box handmade guitar From: Alice Date: 09 Sep 10 - 09:33 PM Thanks, maeve! I enjoyed reading that bio. I didn't realize he is in Montana, like me (up north of me) in Bonner. He didn't have a state location under his shop ID. This guy really does believe in reuse and recycle. He lists items used in making the instruments like skeleton keys, bones of bison and elk, spent ammo cartridge... interesting. Alice |
