These are they, more or less. I usually play it in G, as there is a nice little sus2 riff that Christy Moore plays in his version of the song.
Tim

D                               Bm
Joannie was an unmarried girl just turned twenty-seven

D                                                       Bm
when they sent her to the sisters because of the way men looked at her.

G                                             Bm
Branded as a jezebel she knew she was not bound for heaven,

G                                    A          Bm
she had been cast in shame into the Magdalen launderies.

D                                 Bm
Most girls went there pregnant some by their own fathers.

D                              Bm
Bridget got her belly from the Parish Priest.

G                                                          Bm
They\'re trying to wash things as white as snow, all of those woe-begotten daughters

          G                      A         Bm
in the steaming stains of the Magdalen launderies.

G                               Bm
Prostitutes and destitutes and temptresses like Joanie.

G                            Bm
Fallen women sentenced into dreamless drudgery.

G
Why do the call this place Our Lady Of Charity?

Bm
Of Charity?

D
These bloodless brides of Jesus if they could just once glimpse
Bm
their groom.

D                                              Bm
They\'d drop the stones concealed behind their rosaries.

G                                                 Bm
They wilt the grass they walk upon they leech the light out of a room.

                G                           A
They\'d like to wash those girls down the drains of The Magdalen
Bm
Launderies.

D                                                          Bm
Peg O\'Connell died today. She was a cheeky girl, they stuffed her in a hole.

D                                          Bm
Surely to God you\'d think at least some bells should ring.

G                                                      Bm
Joanie thinks she\'ll die there too and that they\'ll tramp her in the dirt,

         G                  A                           Bm
like some lame bulb that never will bloom when the springtime comes.

when the springtime comes.

Chords are in the right sequence, but in the wrong places in the lyrics; I wasn't able to adjust them properly in the Mudcat font.
