The most recent issue of Ontrac is now available here.    The website has been unavailable for a while as new bells and whistles were being added, but it is now up and running again.

I posted some info about the course - The Big Experiment - here.

I was just speaking to Huw today as it happens. Well, three times actually. He's thinking of setting up a new association or guild for Welsh steppers / cloggers. The course next year is part of the 'strategy'.

Soon the hills will be ringing with the pitter-patter of little wooden feet! I've told him he has to write an article for the next Ontrac.

Actually, the band seemed to vacuum the food right up. It was chicken cassoulet.

What's the course? Hope the funding doesn't dry up!

Recently I chatted with three classical musicians. They had never heard of Playford. Sad.

Yes - Bob Evans wrote that article. He was a tutor on our weekend course, "The Big Experiment", last year and played a lot of the Playford tunes - brilliant! I think there might be a short clip in the video montage on our Youtube channel: music traditions wales.

Huw's on it as well, come to think of it (funniest bit of the whole video - Huw sheepdogging a bunch of dancers). He's teaching on our course next year ... if the Arts funding doesn't completely dry up by then! Picky eater, I'll bet!

Thanks for the link, Sian. I read the article about Playford dances in Wales. Also saw a nice pic of Huw Williams. I fed him supper once.

The organization I work for - trac - publishes a small magazine 3 times a year which can be read online. I thought I'd start this thread to flag up when the new issues are available. There are quite a few of the back issues to be seen there as well.

Hope some of it is of interest!
