I still haven't had an explanation as to why they closed my thread which was started before this one.
Maybe they are hoping I won't remember that I started the thread.
Anyway, it is not good enough.

I think the song you're remembering is called THE REMEMBER SONG (although some people remember it by other titles, such as THE MEMORY SONG or even MODERN DAY YUPPIE BLUES.). It was written by Steven Walters and recorded by Tom Rush. A video of Tom's performance "went viral" on YouTube some time ago.

My message here explains why I believe THE REMEMBER SONG is the correct title.

If you ever forget this again, just take another one o' them pills.

Somewhere there is a song about losing your keys, forgetting your glasses, missing a lunch date, and hearing a phone ringing in the
back ground from the person waiting at the restaurant...maybe it is
by Tom Paxton...but i can't remember....par for the course, eh?

anyone have any clues?
(maybe i think it is by Tom because there has been a great parody
done of his "Last thing on my mind" by THE HOT SOUP TRIO called
