Does anyone else remember Michael & Claire Milner aka Michael Claire?

They were active on the London scene in the late 60s and early 70s until they took off for Claire's native USA. Their blend of stunning guitar work and clever lyrics made a huge impression on me. I was lucky enough to know them quite well for a time and briefly shared their flat over Fulham Pianos. Elizabeth and I were married to the tune of their "Guinevere's Wedding".

Anyway, they surfaced in recent years when Mike called me from the US after I recorded their song "Vampire Rag" and again when Dusty Pulver, who has a library of live recordings made back then came up with a tape of a gig that Michael Claire did in 1971.

I remember them too. Very entertaining.

I too have sung Vampire Rag over the years, having great fun with the chords in between verses, and in the instrumental break. Time for a revival methinks.

I have posted a concert they did in February 1970 at Michael Claire concert - London Feb 1970
