Not sure that you should take the guitar though. When they start clapping their hands and stamping their feet it isn't necessarily applause. |
Subject: RE: MC Fat in Madrid in Nov From: GUEST,Joe G Date: 01 Oct 10 - 02:59 PM Hunt down some real flamenco - there are a few bars that have musicians playing spontaneously - we went to one but can't remember its name - somewhere south of Placa Real I think but that doesn't really help - didn't start until really late though. There is a home brew place with nice beer in Placa Santa Ana. Also some great tiled pubs. The Thyssen Borsomething Museum is a brilliant gallery - lots of early 20th century stuff - one of my favourite galleries - details here http://www.madrid-tourist-guide.com/en/attractions/art-gallery-madrid.html Its a magical city - even the Atocha rail station is beautiful (hopefully still despite the efforts of the bombers) You'll have a great time! |
Subject: RE: MC Fat in Madrid in Nov From: GUEST,MC Fat Date: 01 Oct 10 - 07:31 PM Thanks Joe will look out, got to do Prada but will look into gallery mentioned. Won't be taking geetar doing it as cheeeep as i can, but as sproglet is there for 3 years think I might get to know the city. |
Subject: RE: MC Fat in Madrid in Nov From: GUEST,Joe G Date: 01 Oct 10 - 07:39 PM Lucky you - its brilliant - hope to get back some time but still loads of other cities to do - we found it really friendly but others have reported it as not being so. Depends who you meet. We found a great cheap but nice restaurant ot far from the Placa del Sol - I think it has Susanna in its name - will try to find it on web but it was several years ago Believe me that the TB gallery is much better than Prado unless you like older works of art - I'm more into lte 19th & early 20th c - though I love the Bosch in the Prado. |
