Wow, it's been ages since I posted here. I spent a month in the UK (mostly Scotland) in August and got to see a number of Ceilidhs and bigger-name groups, including the Battlefield Band and Martyrs, Rogues and Worthies (Which is basically Alan Reid and the band's soundman, Rob Van Sant). They sang a lovely romantic song about the Blues and Royals regiment, IIRC about a girl watching her boy go off to war. Anyone know the lyrics to this?

Are you referring to THE ROUT OF THE BLUES? You can listen to it, download it, or print the lyrics and chords at Alan Reid & Rob van Sante's web site.

The lyrics have also been posted at Mudcat here: Lyr Add: THE ROUT OF THE BLUES.
