Subject: Lyr Add: GOOD NIGHT (L Wood/I Bibo/C Conrad) From: Jim Dixon Date: 10 Oct 10 - 05:22 PM Here's another possibility. This song has been recorded under the title GOOD NIGHT WALTZ or GOODNIGHT WALTZ. From an arrangement for 4 voices in Barber Shop Memories, Bk 2 compiled and arranged by Hugo Fry (Alfred Pub Co, 1984), page 32: GOOD NIGHT Words and music by Leo Wood, Irving Bibo and Con Conrad (1923) 1. Goodnight dear, goodnight. There's a light in your eyes shining bright, Saying you love me too, Just as I love you. Goodnight, dear, goodnight. For the last time tonight hold me tight. Until we meet again, my sweet, Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight. 2. Sleep well, dearie, For I know you must be weary, And tho' not near me, You'll be with me in my dreams. REPEAT 1. |

Subject: Lyr Req: Good Night Waltz - Lyrics? From: GUEST,Ebbie, housesitting Date: 06 Oct 10 - 12:49 AM The same friend who asked me about 'My Little Girl' is so impressed with the Mudcat's swift response he wants me to see if anyone knows the lyrics to a tune called 'The Good Night Waltz'. (Incidentally NOT the Utah Phillips' song that keeps coming to my mind) This is a tune that he says was played by big bands, among them Wayne King's. He thinks it was also sung/recorded by Doc Watson. I haven't been able to find any reference to it online. Anybody know this? My thanks and my admiration precede thee. |
