Subject: Tune Req: Relax Into the Darkness From: GUEST Date: 10 Oct 10 - 09:33 PM Hello, everyone. I just attended a wonderful a capella gathering and a man there taught us a song called "Relax Into the Darkness". I heard a lot of music that day though, so I can't remember how the tune goes! I can't find the music in the DigiTrad, or on Google, except this website which only has the lyrics, which I've pasted below. It was introduced as a Pagan song of passage/death. I would greatly appreciate anyone who could help me find a music file of the melody--superbonus points if it's in time for Samhain. Thanks so much, Ami *** Relax into the Darkness Let if fill your soul. And loosen all your Separateness Return unto the Whole. The One becomes the Many Then They return to One. The Light, It brings the Journey: The Darkness takes us Home. And may you come again, friend And may you come again - by spirit - And may you come again, friend And Blessed Be those who come Home. Subject: RE: Tune Req: Relax Into the Darkness From: Jeri Date: 10 Oct 10 - 10:34 PM Ami, I tried and couldn't find anything. Is it possible the man you heard was responsible for putting the tune to the poem on the website you linked to? If no one else knows the song, you might have the best luck finding the man who sang it and recording the tune. Clueless Jeri |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Relax into the Darkness From: GUEST,Carol Date: 20 Apr 12 - 04:58 PM It's been one of my favorite Pagan songs ever. Someone in my coven learned it at a Quaker Pagan gathering. I've tried to google it for an author for years, it now comes up as having been written by Pashta MaryMoon. I see she is listed on LinkedIn. Try googling her. |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Relax into the Darkness From: GUEST,guest Date: 14 Sep 13 - 10:30 PM Please go to youtube and google "relax into the darkness". You will find a video of my husband and me singing this song as learned from Pashta Mary Moon at Friends General Conference (Quaker), Slippery Rock, PA the end of the 70's. When I sent her the link she replied that it was fine with just a couple minor word changes over all those years. She didn't tell us the changes. Perhaps I should ask, but I took it that she didn't think they were too important. Anne Wright sing2b@gmail.com |
