MOUTH TO MOUTH RESUSCITATION
John Hartford

CHORUS: Mouth to mouth resuscitation
Good for the country, good for the nation
Nothing quickens your respiration
Like a little old bit of that sweet sensation
That mouth to mouth (gasp) resuscitation

I dreamt last night that Brigitte Bardot
Was drowning in the clutches of a big undertow
And guess who the lifeguard, her only salvation
That mouth to mouth resuscitation. CHORUS

Well do it every day. Don't do it annual
On page fifteen of your first aid manual
And through the whole book the finest creation's
That mouth to mouth resuscitation. CHORUS

Now fat folks do it And skinny folks do it
And Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton do it
And even the French got their own stylization
Of that mouth to mouth resuscitation. CHORUS

And I think that I'm missing a verse?

Hmmm, I'm not sure who did the song, but it was on a record my sisters had while I was growing up. Maybe the guy who did California Earthquake?

should be a verse emphasizing chest compressions..
or C P R which is Cardio and Pulmonary...
no use just breathing in someone's mouth
if you don't also cause the heart to pump
the oxygenated blood around by pressing on it

it might mention the ratio 30 (chest compressions) to 2 (breaths or ventilations)

open mike you are either not getting it at all or reading way too fast...

Who did Gentle on My Mind? Was that the same person? The hello muddah dude may have covered this one but isn't the singer I knew.

John Hartford sings MOUTH TO MOUTH RESUSCITATION on (I think) Glen Campbell's TV program, at YouTube.

Mrrzy: No, you're not missing a verse.

It originated as a poem, one of my parents good friends. I will add the authors name when I find out was it is. I wish I still had the book. It had interesting short comments like; "If the salt stings your eyes, why do we swim in the ocean".
