Had a good time. The weather was damp and windy in Scotland. Clear as a bell in Iceland but "windy" was hardly the word. It blew an almost constant 40 mph.

Got our picture in the newspaper in Scotland: The Herald.   Always a surprise.

Skarpi was unable to attend the Reykjavik. Something came up at the last moment. We did meet Chris Foster however.

Hi Dan
Robbie was guest at the Frank Harte Festival back in September. He gave a talk on Frank entitled 'Professer Superfluous' It was absolutely magic. He is a great singer and a natural entertainer. I'd love to get to Scotland to join in the fun, but alas I'm busy, busy, busy.
Say hello to Robbie for me (and also to the lovely Bonnie) talk to you soon.

Fergus

Robbie O'Connell and I will be traveling to Scotland in early November to sing Irish ballads and songs of the sea in Edinburgh and Stirling. We hope to meet any Mudcatters who are able to attend - Dan

Venues:
Edinburgh - Carrying Stream Festival - Saturday, 6 November
Stirling - Stirling Folk Club - Monday, 8 November

Robbie O'Connell is a nephew of the famous Clancy Brothers and joined them on three of their albums. He has also sung in Moloney-O'Connell-Keane, and with Mick Moloney, John Doyle, Billy McComiskey and others in the powerhouse group The Green Fields of America. Robbie is also Irish-America's foremost songwriter.

Dan Milner has sung at Sidmouth and other festivals from Copenhagen to California. He has made three Folk-Legacy CDs, including the classic Irish Ballads & Songs of the Sea with Louis Killen, Mick Moloney and others. His 2009 Smithsonian Folkways CD, Irish Pirate Ballads was nominated for two Indie Awards.
