Subject: Lyr Req: Make a Joyful Noise/ Leon Russell From: GUEST,Make Love to the Music/Leon and Mary Russell Date: 21 Oct 10 - 06:38 PM I'd love to play this song. I figured out the chord changes but not the lyrics. It seems Bible based but there are a lot of words I can't get. Like, what kind of snake does she mention that strikes out the unbeliever? etc Any ideas where to get those lyrics? |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Make a Joyful Noise/ Leon Russell From: Jim Dixon Date: 26 Oct 10 - 08:42 PM The correct title is JOYFUL NOISE. Leon Russell wrote it, and Leon & Mary Russell recorded it on "Make Love to the Music" (1977, rereleased 2007). Maria Muldaur also recorded it on her album "Southern Winds" (1978). (Other people have written other songs with the same title.) Here's a bit of the lyrics, from a sample: Make a joyful noise What a wonderful thing ...(?) When the people sing. All over(?) the world People understand Why the girls and boys Make a joyful noise. |
