Sometime in the late'90s or early oughts I heard this song on Prairie Home Companion. I've searched their website and haven't found it. The snatches I remember are:

I'm dancin' in the morning,
I'm dancin' in the evening,
I'm dancin' in road (?)
Just to keep the dark away.

I believe the format was a traveler coming across someone dancing in the road and asking why.

This song has haunted me for years.
