It's the usual first sunday in the month session at the Dog and Bone in lincol this Sunday - from 3pm till you've had enough.
Good friendly crowd and all welcome - Irish trad, English shanty, American Old Time, Blues and Jazz - we've had 'em all!
Child-friendly, real ales and a beer garden - what more could you wish for?
Hope to see folks there
D

Yep - thanks to all who made it - and made it such fun;didn't tumble out till after 7pm and had a thoroughly good time!
What did we get? - some fab American Old Time to start with, some nice little jazz numbers from our resident Django Reinhardt plus fiddler Malcolm taking a break from his usual stuff to add a touch of Grapelli to the numbers, the usual Irish bolocks from Gone to the Dogs trio and the odd (very!) traditional English shanty - plus some great company.
Many thanks folks - you can hear some of it on local Lincoln radio City Radio 103.6FM (I think) tomorrow(Tuesday) night!
Till next time then...!
Dáithí

Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, thanks a lot guys. A lot of extremely talented musicians. Sorry I wasn't able to contribute much - the main reason you don't see many autoharps in sessions is a distinct lack of volume compared to fiddles, whistles and banjos particularly, especially if like me the autoharp is used to playing melody. But I did really enjoy the bits I was able to get stuck into, thanks for having me.

Hi 'bob!
Just made a response on your own thread there - but glad you enjoyed the music!
Was a great shame you didn't tell us all to belt up while you played something - quite a few folks did solo pieces (me included) so there would have been no problem.

Hope you come along to the next one and get stuck in - we'd love to hear you play, and the session does belong to those who turn up, equally - so go for it!

With every good wish!
Dáithí

Damn, it happened again. I was in Lincoln between 12 to 3, but you lot don't start till 3pm. 3pm that's when most people have had their Sunday Dinner and too much to drink and have fallen asleep :-)

Did anyone get to hear the recording on Lincoln Radio? Anyone know if it can be found on the web anywhere?
