Bit like having a best friend in the playground..... exclusivity.. There are several Catters I really like but would not name a particular one.....

Not sure one can really go that way but on ones I have heard, really liked liked dwditty - not my usual stuff American with a gravely voice but for sure I loved it. There was also a woman who's name escapes me.(margaret v?) Think she played harp and knew some Welsh tunes. Whatever, she was beautiful in her bits on the old Hearme/Paltalk.

Not saying they are any better or worse than other catters, I am just thinking of a couple of musical things I enjoyed that come to mind now.

I guess I could go on and list others like Dave the ancient mariner singing valparaiso round the horn with his daughter.

Too many recollections of a past time here really and if memory permitted, I could go on and on with people I've heard.

I had 2 - Malcolm Douglas and Theresa Tooley.
Both, sadly, no longer with us.
I also miss the regular postings from Kytrad and Azizi.

As a poster with knowledge, for sure I miss Malcolm. As well as his contributions here, he helped with our start at folkinfo was present on uk.music.folk and maybe everywhere else that posted folk music. I almost got as far (at his suggestion) of having a drink with him (quite scarey as I know nothing and he was a walking encyclopedia) but it was something that did not happen. Sounding like another obit here...

if you are asking for us to list our favorite cat,
that would be like a mom being asked to tell which
child is her favorite...not gonna happen!

(most) everyone here has some valuable contribution
to the whole.

Of everyone contributes to make this site enjoyable apart from a few nasties.
I have never met these two ladies, but I enjoy their company namely Lizzie Cornish who sounds like a lot of fun and I just love the name "Liz the Squeek" my imagination makes me think of a little mouse like character , very timid and frightened to speak, but when she does it's very sweet.
I suppose I shall have to mention my guitar playing old git mate ,who I shall see tomorrow Will Fly.

Hmmm...I've enjoyed reading the contributions of so many people here. Thanks to all. Without "playing favorites", this seems like an opportunity to specifically thank the people who keep this place running (and also add to discussions)...I guess Max, Joe, etc, but I'm sure there are some whose names I don't even know. And God bless Art Thieme!

Yes, thank you to those who put up with us who despoil their beautiful once pristine site with our strange ideas, arguments and conspiracy theories!

I think the late Rick Fielding - or maybe Malcolm Douglass.

But some of the live ones are pretty good too - Crow Sister, Virginia Tam, Bobert.

And of course those to whom we owe the site, starting with Max and Joe.

Then the occasional really big fish who do drop by and are not condescending - Guest EC, and the one from squeezeandscrape, etc.
