damned airplanes...so many musicians have lost their lives in them.

Since her death in 1963 at age 30 in a private airplane crash at the height of her career, she has been considered one of the most influential, successful, and acclaimed female vocalists of the 20th century.

i understand some musicians who refuse to fly!!

The story of how she came to record "Crazy" is fascinating also.   She didn't want to do it in the slow, passionate approach--which is now an alltime classic.
