Subject: RE: FolkStation Isle of Wight (UK) 2011 From: Richard Bridge Date: 17 Nov 10 - 05:38 PM I think it'll probably be cheaper to buy a new tent, travel light and eat from stalls onfest than take Volvo and van over on the ferry. Unless my mate who smuggles cigarettes into Spain has a spare large boat I can borrow. |
Subject: RE: FolkStation Isle of Wight (UK) 2011 From: Andy Jackson Date: 17 Nov 10 - 07:54 PM Richard, check with us first to see the discount we have arranged for the ferry. Last year a car and up to four could travel at any time of day for only £50-00 return. This year will be similar and we are negotiating for the ticket to cover a whole week on the Island! Beware of agencies quoting hugely inflated prices. |
Subject: RE: FolkStation Isle of Wight (UK) 2011 From: Richard Bridge Date: 17 Nov 10 - 08:54 PM Goodness - the best price I could arrange last year (unless I missed a trick somewhere) was well over double that! |
Subject: RE: FolkStation Isle of Wight (UK) 2011 From: Fidjit Date: 18 Nov 10 - 03:28 AM Richard you could try these I got Dunkirk to Dover for £25 each way. Havent looked at the prices for Isle of Wight though. Chas |
Subject: RE: FolkStation Isle of Wight (UK) 2011 From: Richard Bridge Date: 18 Nov 10 - 03:56 AM Red Funnel line about £65 each way. Wightlink about £120 each way! |
Subject: RE: FolkStation Isle of Wight (UK) 2011 From: Andy Jackson Date: 18 Nov 10 - 03:59 AM The IOW crossing is the most expensive stretch of water in the world. We are at the mercy of a duopoly. BUT FolkStation have arranged special rates, look at all the others then come back to us. |
