Subject: Origins: Tam Lin: Contra dance tune From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 17 Nov 10 - 09:39 AM I love the ballad so much I've named my home Tam Lin. But there's also a dance tune, attributed to Davey Arthur of the Fureys. Anyone have the details on when he wrote it, if he wrote it, and whether he recorded it? Scholarly reputations hang on the answer! |

It's amazing how little info there is on Davey Arthur- even his website isn't very helpful. I now know that the tune has also been called Howling Wind and Glasgow Reel. |
