Holy S**t; that has to be as good a mix of people playing music together as I've ever seen, and as for specifically playing blues together, it is hands down the tops. Thank's Kat!
As if the pure talent doesn't make that something, seeing the blast that they were obviously all having puts the frosting on it.

Like the ol' bluesmen used to say, "That's what I'm talkin' about..."

Thanks, Kat...

What everybody else said, Kat.

And one really nice feature on YouTube, is all the other music the sidebar leads to when some one turns me on to just one link!

Wow. All I can think of is what I missed because of the institutionalized racism of the times in media. Thank God someone had the foresight to preserve these priceless images. And kudos to the 'British Rockers', who in most cases credited their sources.

Was hanging out at a club called Mr. Kiley's in Chicago and talking w/a guy I'd just jammed with on a set of blues. He was a big, black, upright bass player about the same age as me. When we introduced he told me his name was William. I complimented him on his playing and he said, "You should've heard my Pops, he was the man." We chatted a little while longer and toasted the blues w/a shot. Afterwards, he'd left and a musician friend came up to me and said, "Do you know who that was you were talking to?" "No". "Willie Dixon, Jr."

Thanks again Kat, you always seem to ferret out the best of the best.

Well, Jeff... You are in luck because there are alot of really decent country jams still going on...

Check out Archie Edwards Barbershop Blues at acousticblues.com...

Bobert...Appreciate the heads up as I'm planning a visit to Chicago in the near future. Was on staff at The Old Town School of Folk Music for a time and still have many friends there. No doubt, they know about Archie Edwards...etc. Wouldn't be surprised if some of them were/are involved.

Btw, when I read my previous post I forgot to mention that the exchange took place in 1978. :-}

Not too sure the Chicago folks are gonna know about Archie's barbershop... Kinda different style of blues... I was a regular at Archie's for about 7 years and learnt up that Piedmond style purdy good even tho I was more a "clawhammer" Delta player but I still have lots of friends there so if ya' make it to the DC area a trip to the Archie's is a must...

That is so kewl, Jeff! have fun on your "return."

I wish I could take credit for this one, folks, but I have a friend in Austin who was in radio for umpteen, gazillion years, and is a walking encyclopaedia of music. He sent me the link, first. I sent him a link of Duane Eddy playing Rebel. This was part of his reply:

In case you didn't know it Waylon Jennings' wife Jessi Colter was first married to Duane Eddy, and her name then was Miriam Eddy. In the mid 70s on Elektra records Duane recorded a version of You Are My Sunshine, and Waylon and Willie sang on it.

I tried listening to the YAMS recording and it just sounded wrong!:-)

Glad you have all enjoyed this as much as we did. Thanks!
