Hallo all , when in eurogathering here in Iceland we med a choir from
Foreyjar Island ..and we had alot of fun with them , so I had the idea
to contact them and see if this is possible , well I got a letter
from the leader of choir its in forojan ....and here it is

Hey Skarphéðinn!

Góðan dagin, takk fyri teldupostin, tú sendi til okkara. Orsakið, at vit svara ikki fyrr enn nú, men kórið hevur verið í summarfrí, og vit byrjaðu ikki at syngja aftur fyrr enn síðst í september.

So if there is any interest for having eurogathering there
I will contact them again .

All the best Skarpi

1/2 way between Great Britain and Iceland...

Is it possible that the knitting patterns
called Fair Isle come from here?
Traditional Fair Isle knitting patterns come from Fair Isle,
a small island in the north of Scotland.
It is named after Fair Isle, a tiny island in the north of Scotland, that forms part of the Shetland islands.
Guess not...Fair Isle is 1/2 way between Shetland and Orkney
Not to be confused with Faroe Islands.

This band has travelled and played in the Faro islands..

May 1 is a Sunday, so no long weekend for us. Faroes sounds attractive, but there's a difficulty next year. A friend of mine has recently moved to Cairo and would like me to come and see her there. Can't do both, I'm afraid - but you never know.

For anywhere in high latitudes, the nearer you get to the midsummer solstice, the easier travel gets and the more expensive accommodation is.

I reckon easy travel wins.

May Day weekend is the usual weekend for the Euro Gathering and in 2011 we get the Friday off as well for the Royal Wedding so the Faroes could be just the place to be that weekend
