Maqy be a bit late for tonight but the wonderful Sylvia Barnes is on at the King and Queen (Ken Hall and Peta Webb's club) in London with the equally brilliant Carole and Alan Prior) Sylvia doesn't often come down this end of the world and it'll be a grand night. If you can't make it tonight she's on at the Reading Folk Club on Monday

Well worth paying a visit. If you haven't seen Sylvia before prepair yourselve for an emotional tour de force. A powerfull singer not afraid to go the whole hog with the power, control and mix of songs to tick all the boxes.

great night at musical traditions last night, all three singing as brilliantly as ever. Wish they performed more often.

Sylvia won the Scots Singer of the Year Award in the Hands up for Trad Scottish Awards in 2006: her CD "The Colour of Amber" is just fabulous. Carol and Alan are great singers too.
