I thought press releases were aimed at the press. The above has a wider target.

A press release? I get them regularly from the EFDSS. I'll no doubt get one about this event too.

Why shouldn't they send info to news groups as well? Seems quite sensible to me.

Very interesting but why not try one of these for a change.

EFDSS events in January at Cecil Sharp House

Saturday 22        Sssh!
Presented by The Local and EFDSS
Sssh! is standing up against the noise mongers of the world and hitting back with an all-day celebration of quiet music. The Local has presented all manner of the quiet stuff in sympathetic surrounds, and the good news is: everyone listens. A repeat of last January's successful acoustic all day/evening event.
1pm til late
Tickets available from www.localism.org.uk.

Wednesday 26        Down the Lawson Track
Presented by EFDSS
A poignant and amusing celebration of the rigours of the Australian Outback in story and song with music from Martyn Wyndham-Read and No Man's Band, and readings by Shirley Collins and Pip Barnes centred on the writings of Australian ballad poet Henry Lawson. This rich seam is exquisitely mined by these masters of their art to bring you a deeply enriching evening's entertainment, appropriately enough on Australia Day.
7pm-11pm, tickets £14 advance, £17 on the door
