Subject: On the rebound flip From: Ringer Date: 02 Dec 10 - 11:42 AM Almost half a century ago we had about 4 singles which we played incessantly. One was "On the Rebound" by Floyd Cramer. This morning I woke up with the tune from its flip side on my brain. I can't remember its title, but I think it contained "Purple". Trying to remember its title is driving me mad. Was it "Deep Purple"? - doesn't feel right. Can anyone help? (I always regarded the flip as superior to OTR, but both were very fine.) |

Subject: RE: On the rebound flip From: Ringer Date: 02 Dec 10 - 12:12 PM I'd just got the color wrong. Ain't the brain (the sleeping brain) a funny thing? Last time I woke up with an ear-worm from the past, it resulted in this thread. No-one will be interested, I'm sure, but the other 3 singles were "Way down yonder in New Orleans" by Freddie Cannon, One by Emil Ford & The Checkmates of which the flip was "Slow boat to China" (can't even remember what the A-side was) and "Running Bear". |
