We [the Village Quire] are doing the [Truro-ish] version of the Malpas Wassail, lifted from 1975 Watersons' song of that name. At end of last night's concert, a number of people came up and asked me whether the tune was Georgian. Others said Corsican.
I may sing it, but haven't got a clue. Before the NEXT Christmas show, can anyone help? It'd be nice to APPEAR knowledgeable! It's the quavery bits and all the slides in it, I expect. Did I read SOMEWHERE that it may have come from a Russian folk song, or was that something else?

Supposedly traditional. Cheshire? Sometimes they did get a little odd.
