I have been trying to post a reply to 'the round top wagon' thread.

My messages don't 'take'. I made at least twenty attempts at it last night and this morning again my first attempts were unsuccessful.

The post contains a bunch of links to photographs I put up.

Am I violating an underlying forum software rule or is it just one of these things?

I just tried to insert the post in question into this thread, so one of the moderator elves could move it to the appropriate thread. That didn't work.

Is it because I use a cut and paste job (I copied the original whe nit didn't take so I wouldn't loose it).

It's a bit frustrating.

I the last few weeks I have had sometimes 5 or 6 attempts to post into a thread fail - then it takes - can be due to the server being busy.

Yes, I thought so but I can post (to) this thread, but not that specific post and not to that particular thread so far (I have tried a few more times since). I suspect there may be something else going on.

why not try the message again with only one link to see if that gets thru?

Yes that works. Anything with more than two links gets thrown out.

Having run into rejection myself, I think I know the problem (and the answer). Guests are only allowed two links per post. Anything more than that is rejected. So there's your choice, join or limit yourself to no more than two links in each post.

Hi, Peter-
We used to get a lot of Spam messages with multiple links to porn and gambling and.....er, "performance enhancement" sites, and they were a real bother. So, we decided to block Guest messages with more than two links. The block does not apply to registered users, since Spammers rarely register. Sorry for the inconvenience.
