Subject: Crayside Christmas Special - Monday 20th From: Rafflesbear Date: 17 Dec 10 - 10:56 AM This is an open invitation to each and every one of you to join us at the Seven Stars in Foots Cray High Street DA14 5HJ to help us celebrate our first Christmas as the Crayside Folk Club - what a brilliant six months we've had so far - singarounds, open mike nights, guest artists, a festival with morris dancing and of course the DUCK RACING - yes it's all on YouTube!! We start at 20:00 and have an extension until midnight - the last buses do not leave until approx 00:15 from the crossroads. We have some great regulars and want this to be a really fun evening - if you're a regular, an old friend or someone who has not been to Crayside before, a warm welcome awaits you all - we like to think of ourselves as a "Folk and Social Club"! Real Ale and Hot Food available, space to play and space to sit and chat. Hope to see you there |
Subject: RE: Crayside Christmas Special - Monday 20th From: Pierre Le Chapeau Date: 18 Dec 10 - 01:11 AM I will be there so long has I aint still stranded in rochester for if I go that just might happen if the rail net work goes down? |
Subject: RE: Crayside Christmas Special - Monday 20th From: Girl Friday Date: 18 Dec 10 - 08:39 AM Looking out on to blizzard conditions. Rochester is no go. Hoping for better on Monday. We have discussed the posibility of walking there. I think that will be too much, laden with instruments and raffle stuff. Bus is a likelier scenario, if they are running ok. |
Subject: RE: Crayside Christmas Special - Monday 20th From: Rafflesbear Date: 18 Dec 10 - 12:29 PM I live not too far from the venue and there were plenty of buses running past the end of my road today. |
Subject: RE: Crayside Christmas Special - Monday 20th From: fisheye Date: 18 Dec 10 - 12:40 PM Monday is another day, the sun will be shining and we will be moaning because we have warm beer. Did not try for Rochester as 4/6" of snow deterred me. fisheye |

Subject: RE: Crayside Christmas Special - Monday 20th From: Girl Friday Date: 21 Dec 10 - 10:41 AM Well, we've never beaten the Bears to the pub before ! Woodsie was there of course, he's always first to arrive! Frank and co had heard that the snow would be heavy, so didn't come down. I've had their apologies. The rest of us "locals" all got there, including RTB. Mrs Bear's Christmas cake was lovely, and my mince pies (Mr Kipling) remained unopened. Mr Bear's quiz was a lot of fun, and thanks to the Pub's fuse box, the toilets had a definite romantic ambience. A very merry Christmas to you all, and see you next Monday folks. |
