Subject: Chord Req: Orkney Boatman's Song?
From: arbor
Date: 19 Dec 10 - 02:03 PM

Hi all,

I'm looking for the guitar chords to a Scottish song that I've seen been called the Orkney Boatman's Song. However on the album Ivan Drever and Dick Clarke - October Bridge (1988) they call it The Fomaing Sea / Nancy. Seems like there is not much information about the song available on the web, but I did find some partial lyrics here
http://www.scotsites.co.uk/eBooks/whiskydistilleries52.htm

"The foaming sea is dear to me,
It bears me on to thee, love!
And what care I though the spume-drift fly.
It speeds me on to thee, love!
The heart that's true ne'er dreads the view
Of stormy clouds or sea, love! ;
The curling wave may scare the slave,
It ne'er will scare the free, love!"

Thanks for any help!!
